  A Message From Our President

At the recent Alabama Lawyers Association 2011 Annual Meeting and Spring Retreat in Panama City, Florida, I had the honor to be installed as the current President of this great organization. As I mentioned in my inauguration speech at the annual meeting, this year I have the responsibility of leading three additional legal organizations. However, leading the ALA holds a very special place in my heart, since so many members of this organization have paved the way for me to have the opportunity to practice law. I now have the honor to further the purpose of ALA.

Established in 1971, the Alabama Lawyers Association exists to develop and implement ways to increase the number of practicing African American attorneys in Alabama, as well as increase the availability of legal assistance to African American citizens of Alabama. Therefore, as President, I plan to continue to fulfill the purpose of this organization by continuing and /or expanding current ALA programs and projects, as well as introduce new opportunities for ALA to achieve its mission.  - Read More

Sincerely, Navan Ward, President
