Greetings:
Welcome to the Alabama Lawyers Association’s web page. The Alabama Lawyers Association (“ALA”) is the largest and oldest bar association for African-American attorneys within the State of Alabama. The ALA is an affiliate member to the National Bar Association, the oldest bar association for attorneys of color. Today, our association is comprised of attorneys, Judges, law school professors, governmental officials, public officials and law students.
The year 2008 was a good year. At our country’s Executive branch of government, we witnessed that can take place if the issues are discussed. Within ALA, we must continue to communicate and discuss issues as the ALA progresses. Whether it’s from our board members to our fellow members or from ALA to the public, we must continue to talk or communicate amongst each other as we continue to move forward during these historical times in our country.
May 28th – 31st, 2009, the ALA will have its first combined Spring and Annual Retreat, in New Orleans, Louisiana. We’re expecting this event to be greatly attended. If you have not joined the Alabama Lawyers Association, we’d ask that you take a minute and fill out an application and submit to us. We’d love to have you as a member and involved in the many tasks and projects which this Association is involved.
We look forward to hearing from you.
With best regards,
Rodney F. Barganier
President 2008 –09 |
